#How to ignore "specified device name is invalid" while naming a folder?
Have you ever tried to give your folders names like con, prn, aux, clock$, nul, com1, com2, com3, com4, com5, com6, com7, com8, com 9, lpt1, lpt2, lpt3, lpt4, lpt5, lpt6, lpt7, lpt8, lpt9?
If you have then you surely have seen this message below simply showing that you can't.
Well, if you ask why then basically we all have to ask microsoft. But a simple cause could be that you can't use those names that refers to any system actions.
With a simple trick though you can always use this names, let me show you how :
- First create a new folder or delete the existing name of your test folder
- then type your desired name from those IMpossible names.
- after that type " Alt+(0160) " from the num pad and press enter.
